Time and Tide Waits for none The above Quotation by “Some one” holds little relevance in our life. We have few things to do other than attending the lectures in the college (Chandu ka lecture .. chal maaf karo yaar isey… Usey chain se lecture lene do , apan chai peekey aatey hai). We stay away from the family and miss home very much and that do make us feel nostalgic at times (Jeetu Ghari kadhi yeto ahes ha amchya aaisahebancha nemhicha prashna????). I don’t want to sound like pessimist but there are things that compel me to speak against V. J. T. I. and V. J. T. I Hostel. Be it the petty politics, Boring teachers, pathetic hostel and ugly girls of our college baring few of the heavenly bodies. Every thing gives us an acrimonious feeling. (Sorry Girls and Hostel People if u feel bad but it’s the truth) In spite of above mention bitter truths there is one place which vagrants like me and there is no price for guessing, its Mhatre’s Chai Tapri (Didi ek chai aur Bun Maska). Its bit Surprising as one cant find even a droplet of alcohol there but for cigarettes.. (Sahi kaha na mere doston… kyon.. Punjab ka jamai.., unicorn wala bandha , Charsi aur toh aur Anurag.. he he.. “No Smoking” ka Director Anurag Kashyap.. good he is helping to ban smoking . This will come out when his flim comes out.).
Mhatre is a place for hanging out during the happy hours from 12 to 5 and for guys any time till it closes. Its obvious that people loose interest as the girls shutter down time is 5 pm (Lekin hum log toh kabhi bhi waha padey rehtey thet...) . I personally consider that place best suited for the delectable delicacies such as little samosas and the Missal. We love Didi’s and Dada’s preparations and can go to any extent for having them, like didi’s act of rubbing and scratching her dark dress with chef knife and using the same for applying butter, on bread or for slicing the onions. This reflect how much we love Mhatre and the stuffs available there. I must tell u about the positioning of the popular mhatre’s chai tapir.. Exactly opposite one of the college gate which is always closed.. if that wouldn’t have been the case and if the door was opened then probably I would have seen lots of time more in mhatre then in college (Chalna bahut bhari padta hai… MLR’s oof… Don’t know why this college mgmt has closed that door.. may be they knew that student are no interested in lecture but In Mhatre’s Chai Tapri more.)
For some people this plase was best suited for bird watching and interacting with Damsels on institute and other institute nearby. (I was not one of them .... he he) It’s the place which provides some rare moments of solace to the Both VJTI and UICT ppl undergoing the tormenting Lectures, Practicals, Tutorials, Assignments and more over Irritating Professors and Staffs. This is the place where we curse VJTI and the courses in exasperation. Mhatre Witnesses many future GMs, CEO’s, Directors, Software Engineers, Programmers, Executives, and Entrepreneurs sharing there thoughts, views, discussing every thing right from hostel politics, campus interviews to love affairs and how we can forget our religion; Cricket, F1, and Football leagues.. (Yes Shivda, Rupshi and Chedda am I right) I must take this opportunity to thank mhatre’s who strive on daily basis to help us thrive by providing us countless no. of tea cups during exams and in withstanding the last minute fight with the hand outs to score well in the exams.(Especially Paper khatam ho gaya ke chai ke jaroorat top most hoti hai.. aur mere liye to specially… yahi pe main kehta hoon “Aaj ka Paper Bekar tha, Kt Lagege shayad se” , Aur fir sab mujhe gali dete… and specially one of my friends common comment use to be "chod na Sotya yeh to tera hamesha ka rona hai.. chai pee abhi..")
People live for three to four years in the VJTI or UICT and make there days beautiful by sipping mhatre’s tea. They leave having a bright career and future ahead of them after completion of the course Some may be Software Developer, Some may be Manager, Or Some may be CEO of the company but Mhatre remains Unnoticed (BUT WE WILL NOT ) . So on behalf of everyone I would like to take this initiative to thank Mhatre for providing us everything which we could have urged for..
